Dear Families,
I hope this finds you well. I have news… WE ARE HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO FOR CLASS! Finally… Many of you have said you are done with the Zoom Classes and to let you know when we reopen the Studio- we are finally going to reopen the Studio with precautions. For those of you not yet ready to return to the Studio for classes, no worries, I am going to continue the Online Zoom Classes and offer Curbside Art Bag Pick Up the week before. I am also offering to mail Art Bags to families wishing to participate in the Online Zoom Classes as well who reside out of the area. I was so thrilled to have a couple families from Virginia and a family from Chicago join us for our Online Classes during the “Ride ‘em Cowboy” session. It is my wish to accommodate most families’ needs. We are currently preparing the Studio for those of you wishing to return. We have measured and taped out the Music Room and have placed chairs to ensure social distancing- we won’t be able to offer “around the room” movement during our Music Activities as we have in the past but we will still be participating in movement activities at a safe distance. As for the Art Room, we have quartered each of the table islands with Clear Vinyl Curtains to keep everyone safe as well. As for other precautions put in place: Staff will be wearing masks/face shields and I encourage parents/providers to wear a mask and if your child is able to wear one that’s great too. We will sanitize everything between classes and will be laundering aprons after each class- aprons will be hung on chair for 2nd round of Art. There will be hand sanitizer stations available- one in the Lobby, Art Room, and one in the Music Room. I also ask that you please stay home if you or your child(ren) have any symptoms of fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing, chills, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea per CDC guidelines. When exiting the Music and/or Art rooms we will need to maintain social distancing and we will no longer be able to congregate in the Lobby before and after class. I hope your child(ren) can join us for the upcoming 4-week session, “Art Waves”. For those of you who have children receiving services through DCBDD, you may contact your child’s Support Administrator for a PAS. Also, for those of you wishing to participate online, please note that we will have classes on Tuesdays at 11:00am or 6:00pm for children ages 1yr to 6yrs for Art and Music Class and kids wishing to participate online in the ALL Art Class for kids ages 6yrs and older will be at 1:00pm. If you have any questions or concerns or if I have forgotten something please let me know. Unfortunately I think this is our new normal at least for a while but as everyone has been saying- “We are ALL in this together!”. I thank you for your support and emails of concern. During the virtual “Ride ‘em Cowboy” 3-week session, we will work on Artworks in a variety of media such as the “Horse” and a “Gecko” Clay Art piece, and a Photo Cube. During music, for the younger children, we will sometimes integrate music with our art making and also experience different musical styles through fine and gross motor movement, finger plays, rhythm instrument play, parachute play, and other musical activities.
Cost for the 3-week session is $105 or $125 for if Art Bags are mailed via Priority Mail. Curbside Art Bag pick up TBA. Also offering Art Bag Mailing for those living out of the area. “Kid’s Canvas Club” is a monthly event blending visual arts and music that actively involve kids of all abilities (kids with special needs as well as kids developing typically) ages 7ish-21yrs. Your child may join us every month or 1 time, as every month is something different.
It’s just an art group among friends! Using visual arts and music, activities incorporate concepts such as: spatial and body awareness, fine motor skills, language, sensory, social skills, community and acceptance, and the appreciation of the arts, etc. Each hour is comprised of a FUN blend of process-oriented visual art experiences with music of different genres in the background. Your child will come away humming with a beautiful piece of artwork! Supplies provided. In August, we will be painting a “The Giving Elephant” (see a sample picture above) in each individual’s color choice. Date: Monday, August 28th *Kids enrolled in the current 6-week session, “Back to Nature” are included in this at NO additional charge* Time: 6:00-7:00pm Location: The Art of Music LLC Studio 129 Orangewick Dr. North Lewis Center, Ohio Fee: $30 If you plan to pay privately, a $10 deposit is due with the enrollment form to secure your child’s reservation. The balance of $20 is due the day of class.
